It was a very dry and warm October in Hannibal.

Numbers from the Hannibal Filter Plant show only .98 of an inch of rain fell in October. That’s less than a third of the average precipitation received in Hannibal.

Of that total, .83 of an inch of rain fell on the 6th. There were only four days last month in which measurable precip was recorded at the Filter Plant.

October also had its share of warm temperatures. There were nine days during the month in which the high for the day got to or topped 80 degrees, including a high of 90 on the 17th, which tied the record high, which was set in 1950.

On the flip side, there were five days in which the low temperature fell into the 30s. The chilliest day of the month was the 21st when the mercury dropped to 36 degrees.
