A local agency that provides a valuable service to the community stages a fundraiser Saturday night (Feb. 8).

The Hannibal Nutrition Center's annual dinner and auction takes place at the Quality Inn & Suites, with a silent auction at 6, a buffet meal at 6:30 and a live auction at 7:45 p.m. Professional Auctioneer Col. Dale DeLaporte is donating his services for the live auction.

Proceeds from the event benefit the nutrition center's Home Delivered Meals Program. Along with the meals that are served at the nutrition center, the home delivery program provides a valuable service for those in the community who, for whatever reason, can't get out of the house for a hot meal.

Saturday's event costs $50 per ticket, or $400 for a table of eight.

To make reservations, call the Hannibal Nutrition Center at 573-221-4488.
