Hannibal ‘Music in the Marina’ Event Saturday

A group of citizens opposed to the city of Hannibal’s plan to close its marina host an event on the riverfront Saturday night.

The group, called Save Hannibal’s Marina, host Music in the Marina from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday.

One of the purposes of the event is to gather signatures on a petition to have the question of whether the marina should be saved reconsidered by the council or put before the voters.

The group’s effort stems from the Hannibal City Council’s approval of a riverfront renovation plan that would call for the current marina to filled in and used as green space.
