UPDATE:

Hannibal Police have released details of the shootings that took place early Monday morning.

Officers were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Fulton Avenue at 1:05 a.m. Monday. They arrived to find an 18 year old female from Hannibal with a gunshot wound to her back. Officers also learned of two other shooting victims, who had fled the residence and had gone to a home in the 1600 block of Martin Avenue.

One male victim, age 19 was shot in the arm. The other, age 17, was wounded in the back. Both are from Hannibal.

The female victim identified the shooter as 19 year old Carl Emerson, Jr. of Hannibal.

Witnesses told police Emerson started shooting when an argument began between him and one of the male victims.

Emerson initially fled the scene. He was spotted just after 9 a.m. in the 1200 block of Broadway. He was found and arrested at 9:46 a.m. in the 1200 block of Center.

The shooting victim with a wound to the arm was treated and released from Hannibal Regional Hospital. The other two were taken to University Medical Center in Columbia.

Emerson was taken to the Marion County Jail on a 24 hour hold for three counts of first degree assault.

The investigation into the shootings continues.

A Hannibal man is being sought in connection with an early Monday morning shooting.

Hannibal Police responded to two reports of possible shootings in the 1000 block of Fulton Avenue and the 1600 block of Martin Street at 1:05 a.m. Monday.

Officers arrived to find one female shooting victim at Fulton Avenue and two males shot at Martin Street. All three are believed to have been shot at the Fulton Avenue location.

The shooting victims were taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.

Police are looking for 19 year old Carl Emerson, Jr. in connection with his alleged involvement in the shootings.

Emerson is considered armed and dangerous.

UPDATE: Carl Emerson was taken into custody by Hannibal officers at 9:46 am today in a residence located in the 1200 block of Center Street.
