On Tuesday, January 20, officers of the Hannibal Police department were dispatched to the 900 block of Center St. for a report of shots being fired.

When officers arrived on scene they learned a suspect, identified as 27-year-old Kevin J. Griffith, of Hannibal, had been in an argument with another male. During the argument, Griffith took out a handgun and fired several shots at the other man's car and then fled the area in a vehicle. No one was injured during the altercation.

On Thursday, January 22, officers located Griffith at a residence in the 200 block of Munger Lane. Griffith was taken into custody without incident. A second male subject, 20-year-old Tyrees Hill, of Louisiana, Mo, was also taken into custody for interfering with the arrest.

During a consensual search of the apartment, a handgun and a substance believed to be marijuana were located.  Griffith was charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Property Damage, Armed Criminal Action and Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Griffith was released to the Marion County Jail on a 24 hour hold pending a warrant. Hill was released pending prosecutors review for a warrant.
