On Thursday evening (June 26th), an officer of the Hannibal Police Department stopped a vehicle on Quincy St. for improper registration and running a stop sign. After the driver, 48 year old Burt D. Whitlock of Hannibal, consented to a search of his vehicle, the officer located several items consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine, prescription medication and an open bottle of liquor.

Whitlock was arrested and charged with Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Suspended.

Whitlock was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Marion County Jail pending warrants.
