A Hannibal man was arrested Thursday after being pursued by police in the Lake of the Ozarks area.

Media reports indicate police in Lake Ozark stopped a vehicle for a routine traffic stop about 1:20 a.m. Thursday. A passenger in the car, 32 year old John Fogle of Hannibal, fled the vehicle on foot.

Fogle was spotted several times during the day, and a local school was locked down for a time during the search.

Fogle was finally taken into custody about 4 p.m. Thursday in Osage Beach.

Police report Fogle had outstanding warrants, including one for failure to register as a sex offender.

Charges have yet to filed against Fogle in connection with Thursday’s incident.
