On Thursday (February 26) evening, officers of the Hannibal Police department responded to a report of a subject armed with a knife attempting to make entry into a residence on Ledbetter Lane.

Officers arrived on scene and learned 33-year-old Alex M. Campbell, of Hannibal, had used the knife to assault another male at the residence. The victim suffered minor cuts to his arm and refused medical treatment. Campbell was arrested without incident and charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Domestic Assault. He was released to the Marion County Jail on a 24 hour hold pending a warrant.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
