The Hannibal Hoots got seven innings played before stormy weather got to Clemens Field and beat the Danville Dans Thursday 2-1.

Hannibal broke a scoreless tie in the fourth. Catcher Sam Nozicka was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, went to second when DH Brady West reached on an error, advanced to third when center fielder Tye Thixton walked and scored on a single by second baseman Josh Lane.

Danville tied the game in the fifth on an error and two singles. The Hoots scored what turned out to be the winning run in the sixth on base hits by West and left fielder Wyatt Whitman and another RBI single by Lane.

Meanwhile, storm clouds moved in, stopping play with one out in the bottom of the seventh. The rains came, and Hannibal won, improving their record to 19-26.

The Hoots are in Springfield for a double header Friday.
