A trio of Quincy Gems pitchers shut out the Hannibal Hoots on six hits on their way to a 6-0 win Sunday at Clemens Field.

Quincy scored two in the third on a double by right fielder Ryan Mantle and a pair of RBI singles by DH Cody Birdsong and third baseman Jimmy Huber.

The Gems added two more in the fifth on a triple by center fielder Francisco Rodriguez and a home run by Mantle.

Quincy's last two runs came in the seventh on a hit batsman, a single, a wild pitch and an error.

Three of the Hoots' six hits came from DH Joe Roscetti. Center fielder Patrick Donohue also walked twice.

Hannibal's record falls to 20-28, while the Gems improve to 26-22.

The Hoots are at Springfield to face the Sliders Monday.
