The Hannibal Hoots were victimized by the Quincy Gems Friday night, coming out on the short end of a 9-0 score.

Quincy opened the scoring in the third, scoring three times on a bases-loaded double by Riley Pittman and a throwing error.

The Gems scoring continued with two in the fourth on a ground out and a single and two more in the fifth on a sacrifice fly and a bases loaded walk.

Quincy scored single runs in the sixth on a home run by Tyson Banks, and in the seventh on a ground out.

Meanwhile, four Gems pitchers shut out the Hoots on seven hits, stranding ten runners.

The loss drops Hannibal to 4-11. The win improves Quincy's record to 9-6.

The Hoots' road trip continues at Lafayette Saturday night.
