Hannibal firefighters were called to the Hardee’s at Highway 61 and MM about 5:30 a.m. Friday.

Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the restaurant’s hood suppression system.

A fire had apparently broken out in one of the fryers in the kitchen area. Employees had extinguished the fire by the time the fire department arrived.

Firefighters were on the scene about an hour. No one was hurt.

Hardee’s closed until health inspectors arrived to assess the damage. The restaurant reopened just before 2 p.m. Friday.
