Voters in Hannibal Fifth Ward go to the polls Tuesday in a runoff election for a seat on the Hannibal City Council.

On April 4th, none of the three candidates on the ballot got at least 50 percent of the votes. Hannibal’s city charter mandates that the top two vote-getters go back on the ballot for a runoff no more than two weeks after the municipal election.

Fifth Ward voters will choose between incumbent Gordon Ipsen and Colin Welch.

The only polling place in Tuesday’s runoff is Prince Avenue Baptist Church. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
