The Hannibal Cavemen have their first winning streak of the season, winning their second game in a row, 7-3 Thursday night at West Virginia.

The Miners took a 3-0 lead into the fifth inning. That's when the Cavemen offense went to work. They tied the score on a double by second baseman Phillip Stiles, and RBI single by first baseman Mike Bibbs and a two-run double by center fielder Justin Blechle.

Hannibal plated four more in the sixth on a bases-loaded walk, at two-run single by Blechle and and an RBI single by shortstop Brett Marr.

Sam Cottingham-Beard was the starting and winning pitcher, with Ryan Furtney throwing two innings of scoreless relief.

Hannibal is in West Virginia again Friday night. They'll work their way back home with another game at Champion City Saturday and a visit to Terre Haute Sunday. The next Cavemen home game is next Tuesday as the Richmond Riverrats come to town.
