The Hannibal Cavemen battled back late Friday night, but couldn’t hold the lead and lose to the Miners 4-3 at West Virginia.

The Miners scored single runs in the second and third innings, and that’s the way it stayed until the ninth.

Hannibal took a 3-2 lead in the ninth on an RBI single by right fielder Stefan Miladinovich, and a two-run single by third baseman Seth Soto.

However, the Cavemen bullpen faltered in the bottom of the ninth, giving up a single and three walks to tie the game and a walk-off single by center fielder Dylan Harvey.

Hannibal starts its journey back with a return trip to Champion City tonight.
