The Hannibal Cavemen are shut out for the second straight night, coming out on the short end of a 6-0 score at Danville Thursday night.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth, when the Dans scored on two singles, a fielder's choice and a throwing error.

After scoring another run the in 7th, Danville broke the game open in the eighth when they scored four, the final two coming on a two-run single by catcher Garrett Taylor.

The Cavemen were shut out on seven hits, leaving eleven runners on base.

Hannibal starting pitcher Peter Minella gave up only one run on three hits in six innings of work, but took the loss. Danville's starter, Bryce Reichmann, shut out the Cavemen on four hits over five innings for the win.

Hannibal's record falls to 0-2, while the Dans even their record at 1-1.

The Cavemen play again at Danville Friday night. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
