The DuPage Drones provided all the fireworks on the 4th of July as they shut out the Hannibal Cavemen 7-0 Monday night at DuPage.

The Drones started fast, scoring a run in the first on an error, a walk and an RBI single by catcher Jake Anchia.

DuPage broke the game open with four in the second. Right fielder Brad Hartman and shortstop Will Farmer each had run-scoring singles, and second baseman Aaron Meyer blasted a two-run homer. The Drones added two more runs in the sixth to close out the scoring.

Meanwhile, DuPage starting pitcher Kyle Huckaby shut out the Cavemen on six hits, going the distance for the win.

Hannibal has the day off Tuesday, traveling to Springfield to take on the Sliders Wednesday. The Cavemen return to Clemens Field Thursday to face the Kokomo Jackrabbits. You can listen to Thursday's webcast by going here.
