It took ten innings for the East Division leading Chillicothe Paints to prevail Monday night as they beat the Hannibal Cavemen 3-2 at Clemens Field.

The game was scoreless until the Paints broke through for two runs in the fifth on a single, a sacrifice, a throwing error and a ground out.

The Cavemen tied the game in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by center fielder Justin Blechle and a wild pitch, which allowed shortstop Shane Cooper to score the tying run.

In the tenth, Chillicothe scored on a single by third baseman Chad Roberts and a triple off the bat of right fielder Derek Hug.

With just three games left, the Cavemen at 8-21 in the second half and 15-38 overall.
