The Hannibal Cavemen suffered another loss Wednesday night, but they made the Danville Dans earn their 3-2 win at Danville.

The home team scored first, plating two runs in the fourth on an RBI double by left fielder Wright Hackett and a run-scoring single by third baseman Drew Harper.

The Cavemen tied the game in the sixth when third baseman Seth Soto reached on an error and first baseman Ed Reichenbach connected for his first homer of the year.

Danville scored what turned out to be the winning run in the seventh on back-to-back doubles by second baseman Andrew Curran and right fielder Jordan Lucio.

Hannibal had the tying run on base with one out in the ninth as right fielder Wyatt Champlin reached on an error. The rally came up short when Champlin was thrown out stealing and pinch hitter Nicco Lollio struck out.

The Dans will be at Clemens Field Thursday for a double header. The first pitch for game one is scheduled for 5:08 p.m. To listen to the webcast, click here.
