The month of August turned out to be a warm and wetter than average one in Hannibal.

The August numbers from the Hannibal Filter Plant show that we received 5.91 inches of rainfall last month, nearly two inches more than the August average.

Most of the August precip came in the second half of the month, with the wettest days coming on the 28th, when the Filter Plant recorded 1.38 inches of rain, and the 24th, when 1.12 inches of rain fell.

August is a traditionally warm month, and last month was no exception. There were eleven days when the mercury topped out at 90 or above. The hottest days were the 5th, the 26th and the 28th, when the day’s high reached 95.
