Hannibal Arts Council Seeks Nominations for Annual Paragon Art Awards

Who is the most artful person in our community? What about business or organization? The Hannibal Arts Council will present the Paragon Art Awards during its upcoming annual meeting, and nominations are being sought. 

The Hannibal Arts Council invites the community to submit nominations for its awards to recognize the contributions to the arts community by residents, artists, educators, organizations and business leaders.  The Hannibal Arts Council recognizes exemplary dedication to the arts through its Paragon Art Awards.  Paragon comes from [Par-uh-gon] – noun - a model or pattern of excellence or of a particular excellence. "

Award categories are: 

Leadership in the Arts (Art Project) – Presented to an individual, artist, arts educator, committee, business, or organization that has helped pull together a community arts project that makes an impact in our community.

Leadership in the Arts (Individual) - Presented to an individual who has contributed to the arts in Hannibal through volunteerism, participation, involvement, commitment and enthusiasm.

Leadership in the Arts (Business) - Presented to a business who has shown support for the Hannibal Arts Council through underwriting, membership donations, employee participation, community involvement and product/service donations.

Leadership in the Arts (Organization) - Presented to a local organization who has contributed to the arts in Hannibal, as well as demonstrated community participation, involvement, volunteerism and commitment.

Organizational Leadership Award (Board/Committee) - Presented to a Hannibal Arts Council board member or committee member who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, initiative and volunteerism.

Volunteer(s) of the Year- Presented to the individual(s) who over the past year(s) has given of themselves above and beyond the call of duty to make the arts in Hannibal successful.

Nominations will be accepted by email (findit@hannibalarts.com), regular mail, phone, or in person at the Hannibal Arts Council. The Hannibal Arts Council is at 105 South Main Street in Hannibal. The mailing address is  P.O. Box 1202, Hannibal, MO 63401 and the phone number is 573-221-6545. It is not necessary to make a nomination in every category. The deadline to make your nomination is August 1.
