A Hancock County man has been arrested in connection with a traffic crash that resulted in the death of an Iowa man.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest Thursday of 25 year old Karlton Flaherty of Burnside.

He is charged with failure to report an accident to police, leaving the scene of an accident and operating an uninsured vehicle causing bodily harm.

Authorities report that Flaherty was westbound on Hancock County Road 2100 North, north of Carthage Monday when he allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by 83 year old Victor Riddle of Montrose, Iowa.
