The Illinois State Police report troopers were called to County Road 2000 North and 800 East about 9 p.m. Saturday.

Troopers report 20 to 25 people were attending a family event and went on a hayrack ride. The driver of the tractor, 41 year old Wayne York of Nauvoo, lost control of his tractor on an incline, causing the tractor and wagon to slide into a wooded ravine and overturn.

One of the adults on the hayride, 32 year old Amy Swinderman of Hamilton, was killed in the mishap.

Three adults, 43 year old Michael Davidson, 36 year old Ashley Davidson and 41 year old Jessica Little, all of Hamilton, along with 16 children, ranging in age from one to 12, were taken to an area hospital for treatment of various injuries.

Investigators determined the tractor pulling the wagon was undersized for the ride.
York was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
