(HANNIBAL) - The Hannibal Arts Council Children’s Committee will host their June 'First Friday Art Adventure' from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, June 1 at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main St .

The June theme is 'Daddy, Watch Me Grow!' Participants will create two projects: a handmade growth chart created from jute webbing and a hand-woven container made from newsprint. In addition to the projects, participants will enjoy a special snack and view the current HAC exhibit 'Where We Can Read the Wind' which features work by artists with disabilities.

Children ages 6 to 12 are invited to attend.  Cost for the workshop is $10 per child or $5 per child for HAC members.  Scholarships are available upon request. Space is limited and registration is required. To register, contact the Hannibal Arts Council at 573-221-6545 or kerrieo@hannibalarts.com.

Brenda Beck Fisher, HAC Program Coordinator, cuts jute webbing in preparation for the next 'First Friday Art Adventure' at the Hannibal Arts Council. The jute webbing will be used to create a growth chart for participants to mark their annual growth.
