(QUINCY)--Adams County Judge Scott Walden denies the request of a Chicago man who asked to withdraw his plea to a 2010 murder in a Quincy restaurant parking lot. 30 year old Phillip Diaz pleaded guilty in May to first-degree murder with a plea arrangement that would have given him anywhere between 20 and 45 years in prison. Diaz was charged with the May 2010 shooting death of 38-year-old Ian Barksdale in a parking lot at 30th and Broadway. Judge Scott Walden originally sentenced Diaz to 45 years in state prison.

Diaz complained that his attorney didn't properly investigate the case.
