Groundbreaking ceremonies late Monday morning mark the start of work on Hannibal’s 6.6 million dollar riverfront renovation project.
Movement toward this project started in 2014 with a committee looking at several possible renovation plans. Government permitting for changing the marina slowed the process but Parks and Recreation Director Andy Dorian says that is behind them. Work crews from Parks and Recreation and Bleigh Construction are already moving dirt.  Work will continue through the winter and spring as weather and river conditions permit. Plans are for renovation to be complete by late September.
