Gov. Nixon to Visit Palmyra Monday
Gov. Jay Nixon plans to visit businesses in Cape Girardeau, St. Charles, and Palmyra to discuss an upcoming trade mission to Italy, Germany and Spain.
Nixon is scheduled to visit the BASF plant in Palmyra at 4 p.m. Monday. The Governor cites the chemical company as one example of international companies that are investing in Missouri.
The Governor will lead a delegation of public officials and private business leaders on the trade mission March 20 through March 28 that will include several state legislators and the directors of the Departments of Agriculture and Economic Development.
According to the Governor’s press release, in 2014, Missouri export sales reached $14.1 billion, up 9 percent over 2013 and the second highest year on record.
