Good News for Quincy University Students

For the first time in over 35 years, QU students will not see a tuition increase this fall.

A press release says tuition will remain the same for all undergraduate students beginning or returning in the 2016-17 academic year.

Typically, tuition at Quincy University has increased 2 to 8 percent annually.  Officials say the move is partly due to the uncertainty around funding.  Last year, over 300 QU students did not receive Monetary Award Program (MAP) Grants promised by the State of Illinois.  MAP grants average more than $2300 per semester for full time students.

QU also plans to offer significant discounts on general education coursework taken over the summer.  Last year’s rate was $389 per credit hour.  The rate will be reduced to $230 this summer.  A number of courses will be offered online.
