A Las Vegas man is sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his father three years ago.

According to Marion County Prosecuting Attorney David Clayton, 29 year old Carl Goldberg received the maximum sentence of life in prison in Ralls County Court Thursday.

Goldberg had pleaded guilty in February to second degree murder in the death of his father, 84 year old Carl Maxwell.

Goldberg is alleged to have shot his father with a crossbow in February of 2015, hiding his body in a freezer in a vacant house in the 2000 block of Broadway.

Maxwell’s body was not found until about eight months after the murder.
Goldberg is expected to be transported from the Marion County Jail to the Missouri Department of Corrections this week.
