Former QU President Rev. Eugene Kole Dies

A former president of Quincy University has died.

Word comes from Hampton, Virginia of the death of the Rev. Eugene Kole last Thursday at the age of 68.

Kole served as QU president from 1997 through 2002.

Kole was a native of New York State. He was professed a Franciscan Friar in 1966 and ordained a priest in 1975.

After his time at QU, Kole made stops in Michigan, Connecticut and North Carolina before becoming pastor of a church on Langley Air Force Base in Virginia in 2009.

Funeral arrangements for Rev. Eugene Kole are being handled by a funeral home in Hampton, Virginia. He will be buried in Hamburg, New York.
