A former Eolia firefighter admits to using a district credit card to make more than 900 dollars of personal gasoline purchases.

19-year-old Gale Edward Epple of Silex pleaded guilty Wednesday to fraudulent use of a credit device. He was sentenced to five years of probation.

Epple admitted to making the purchases with the fire district fuel card between December First of last year and January 20 of this year. The fire district chief discovered discrepancies in fuel billing when reviewing records and called authorities.

Investigators say all of the purchases were made at an Eolia convenience store using cards assigned to fire department vehicles at the Whiteside station.
