Florida Man to Make Court Appearance in Pike CO on Drug Charges

A preliminary hearing is today for a Florida man who faces five felony drug charges in Pike County.

31-year-old George Mathes is accused of drug trafficking and four counts of possession of chemicals with intent to make a controlled substance. An Eolia convenience store attendant told authorities the suspect and a woman in his car were harassing her as well as motorists in the parking lot of the business last November.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports finding meth and chemicals used to make the illegal drug in the car after the two consented to a search.
