Five Missouri Traffic Fatalities Over New Year’s Weekend

The Missouri Highway Patrol releases its traffic crash numbers for the New Year’s holiday weekend.

Troopers report there were five traffic fatalities over the four-day weekend.
Statewide, state troopers investigated 344 crashes with 116 injuries and made 90 DWI arrests.

Of the five fatalities, one occurred in southwest Missouri, with two each in southeast Missouri and the St. Louis area.

There were no traffic fatalities in northeast Missouri over the New Year’s weekend.

The official reporting period ran from 6 p.m. Thursday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
