The Hannibal Arts Council Children’s Committee will host their July First Friday Art Adventure from 4-6 p.m. on July 6 on the sidewalk in front of the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main St.  If the weather is too warm, the event will be held inside. This month’s event is a “stop by” event.  Participants maybe arrive anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. to create their projects.

The July theme is Krazy Kaleidoscopes and Patriotic Crafts and participants will create three projects: A prism-effect kaleidoscope, watercolor flowers made with coffee filters and a harmonica style noisemaker made with craft sticks and rubber bands.  In addition to the projects participants will enjoy a special snack of freezer pops and view the current HAC exhibit Kaleidoscopes which features one-of-a-kind kaleidoscopes and handmade kaleidoscope quilts.

Children ages 6 to 12 are invited to attend.  Special for July is the cost for the workshop, which is $5 per child for HAC members and non-members (regularly $10 for non-members).  Registrations are encouraged but not required for this month’s event.  To register, contact the Hannibal Arts Council at 573-221-6545 or kerrieo@hannibalarts.com.
