Fire in Quincy Claims Life of 3rd Family Member [Updated]
Quincy Police are reporting the child rescued from Saturday's fire has passed away at a St. Louis hospital.
A Press Release issued Sunday morning says Lewis Bassett, Jr. was pulled from the structure fire and flown to Children's Hospital in St. Louis. He died at 4:05 a.m. Sunday.

The Quincy Herald-Whig reports the blaze broke out at 921 North 11th St. around 5 p.m. Saturday. Although firefighters quickly knocked down the fire upon arrival, 43 year-old Lewis Bassett and his 1 year-old son LaDavion died from their injuries at Blessing Hospital.
Firefighters rescued another child, 3 year-old Lewis Bassett, Jr. from the burning home. He was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital where he is reported to be in critical condition.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
