Firefighters from five different departments battled a fire Monday morning on Shelby County Road 426 south of Lentner.
A Shelbina firefighter in the area saw smoke and called 9-1-1. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the roof as firefighters arrived. Five firefighters were treated at the scene for heat exhaustion. Shelbina firefighters were assisted by the Shelby Community Fire Department, Clarence Rural Firefighters, the Madison West Monroe Fire Protection District, Paris Rural Fire Protection District, Salt River Ambulance, Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies and Shelby County E-9-1-1.
