An investigation by Monroe City Police into a Snapchat post results in a juvenile being taken into custody Friday.

According to Monroe City Police Chief Tyler Wheeler, his office was informed Tuesday evening of a post on the social media app Snapchat of a possible “hit list” directed toward certain Monroe City High School students.

An investigation revealed that the “hit list” was directed toward “homophobes” in the school and anyone who helped add names to the list would not be harmed.

At 7:50 a.m. Friday, a female juvenile high school student, identified as a person of interest, was taken into custody by police and school administrators.

Chief Wheeler says that this appears to be an isolated incident.
