FBI Arrest Man Accused of Hacking Police Union Website

A man has been arrested and charged with hacking a St. Louis County police union website.

Justin E. Payne faces a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized damage to a protected computer. Charging documents say a computer belonging to the St. Louis County Police Association was accessed sometime between Nov. 22 and Dec. 3.

The police union's president said Wednesday that the site remained down to make security upgrades and repair damage. He says the association will continue to cooperate with federal agents in the investigation.

FBI special agent Cheryl Mimura says Payne was arrested without incident on the grounds of the National Personnel Records Center.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says Payne's lawyer wasn't available for comment.
