Fatality Accident Closes Highway 6 (Updated)

(TAYLOR)—A Kirksville man is dead following a three vehicle crash on Missouri 6 three miles west of Taylor at 2:15 Wednesday afternoon.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says 31-year-old Leonard Sims of Kirksville attempted to pass a vehicle on a curve and collided head on with a vehicle driven by 80-year-old Allen Massner of Maywood. A truck driven by 50-year-old Richard Wilson of Baring was hit by debris.

Troopers say Sims was ejected from his car and pronounced dead at Blessing Hospital at 3:14 p.m. The crash report indicates Sims was not wearing a seat belt. Massner and a passenger, 73-year-old Rosemary Massner, sustained minor injuries.
