There was extra security at the Adams County Courthouse Tuesday morning as three defendants charged in the shooting death of 12-year-old Rayshone Humphrey, Jr. appeared in court.

This was the first appearance with counsel for Stefan Crider, Jr., Julia Crider and Stefan Crider III.

Extra deputies, officers and state troopers were on hand because of incidents at two previous hearings involving the Crider and Humphrey families.

A fourth defendant, Steson Crider, is expected to waive extradition from Maricopa County, Arizona in a court appearance Wednesday.

Steson Crider is accused of shooting Humphrey, while the others are alleged to have helped Steson Crider leave the state after the murder.

Stefan, Jr., Julia and Stefan III are scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 3.
