On Saturday, October 8, 2016, Hannibal Evening Kiwanis will be sponsoring a sporting clays tournament at Ka-Tonka Gaming Preserve, south of New London. There will be a 36 total team capacity, with 12 stations. Prize money will be paid to the top two teams in each of three flights. Competition rounds will start at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m.and 1:00 p.m.  Teams will receive a gift bag. Fiddlestiks is catering lunch to be served between 11:00 a.m. And 1:00 p.m.  In addition, there will be a meat shoot for gift certificates to a meat locker, a gun raffle, and raffles for other gift items.

This year, proceeds are earmarked for the kids in motion program (under the umbrella of douglass community services, inc.). Kids in motion is a pre-employment/service learning and training program for at risk youth. It teaches teens and preteens to value work, their community and their future. Actual employment is simulated, with earnings based on daily evaluations of attitude and performance. Some participants have stated that the program "saved their lives".  Kids In Motion is celebrating its 20th anniversary in the Hannibal area.

Kiwanis is looking for additional sponsors for breakfast, snacks and refreshments as well as raffle items.
