Probable cause was found Monday that the case of a Hannibal man facing sodomy charges should move forward.

In a preliminary hearing in Marion County Associate Court, Judge John Jackson ruled there was probable cause to bind Eugene Smith over for trial for first degree statutory sodomy.

Smith is alleged to have molested a minor under the age of 14 September 17th.

Smith had previously been convicted of rape in Shelby County.

He remains in the Marion County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond.
