Esselman Sentenced for Stealing from Employer

A Liberty man was sentenced Monday in Adams County Circuit Court for stealing from his former employer.

55 year old John Esselman pleaded guilty in April to one count of theft over $10,000. He was sentenced Monday to four years of conditional discharge, a form of unsupervised probation. Esselman was also directed to pay $145,000 in restitution.

Esselman was Chief Financial Officer and front office manager of Michelmann Steel Construction Company in August of 2017 when a review of company paperwork revealed irregularities that resulted in Esselman’s arrest.
