Officials with the Illinois Department of Agriculture confirm that evidence of the Emerald Ash Borer has been found in Quincy.

The presence of the tree-killing pest was confirmed by state Ag officials on Friday.

The city of Quincy has been proactive is battling the bug. Crews have been treating and/or cutting down ash trees in anticipation of the arrival of the Emerald Ash Borer for the last two years.

The Missouri Department of Conservation confirmed last week that the Emerald Ash Borer had been found in Ralls County.
