Ellis Sentenced to Prison on Sexual Assault Charges

An Ursa man is sentenced to prison after pleading guilty last month to sexual assault charges.

In Adams County Circuit Court Monday, 32 year old Richard Ellis is sentenced to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

Ellis was indicted in August on allegations that he had sexual contact with a girl between the ages of six and eight between 2011 and 2015.

Because of the charge, Ellis is required to serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
