(UNDATED)—It is election day 2012. Polls are open until 7 p-m in Missouri and Illinois. The presidential race tops the ballot. Missouri voters will decide on a Governor and Congressional and legislative seats are to be decided along with a US Senate seat in Missouri. The Missouri ballot also includes a proposed hike in the cigarette tax. They'll also get a chance to weigh in on whether to change the way judges are picked and prevent state officials from setting up a health exchange without the public's support.

CHICAGO (AP) - Illinois voters can weigh in on a constitutional amendment about lawmakers' state pensions. The amendment on the ballot today would require a three-fifths majority vote before retirement benefits for public employees are enhanced. Critics argue that requiring an extraordinary majority vote on future increases would be meaningless.

We’ll have election night coverage here on KHMO including area returns and national coverage from the Salem Radio Network.
