Eight Fatalities on Missouri Highways Over New Years Holiday

(UNDATED)—Missouri Highway Patrol troopers report eight fatalities on Missouri highways during the New Years Holiday counting period.

One of the fatal crashes occurred in Clark County on New Years Eve. 3 year old Sawyer Jacobson of Kahoka was killed when the vehicle she was riding in went off the road and hit a tree on US 163.

Troopers also report investigating 486 traffic crashes state wide resulting in 147 injuries. Troopers also report making 124 arrests for driving while intoxicated.  A year ago… troopers worked 163 traffic crashes resulting in 75 injuries and six fatalities.
