Additional charges have been filed against a Pittsfield woman in connection with a traffic crash in rural Pike County a little over a month ago.

In a press release, Pike County State’s Attorney Zach Boren announced that DUI charges have been filed against Jessica Gwartney.

Gwartney was driving a van on 435th Street south of Griggsville on February 23rd when the van ran off the road and hit a tree.

There were three passengers in the van, but no one suffered life threatening injuries.

Boren said that officers at the scene of the crash were unable to perform a standard field sobriety test, but the lab report from the Illinois State Police, which just became available last week, showed that a DUI charge against Gwartney was appropriate.

At the time of the crash, Gwartney was cited for improper lane usage.
