A series of drug take back events are planned in northeast Missouri this month.

Captain Patti Talbert of the Northeast Missouri Narcotics Task Force says the take backs provide an opportunity for you to safely and properly dispose of medications no longer being used. Previous take back events have removed thousands of prescription pills from the street. Over the counter and prescription medications in liquid, pill or patch form will be accepted.

Drop offs are scheduled September 22 at the Hannibal Clinic from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and Hannibal Regional Hospital from 1 p.m. until 5.

Subsequent drop offs are planned September 24 at the Monroe City Nutrition Center and September 26 at the Canton County Market stores in Canton and Palmyra.
