Douglas Howry Plans Murder Conviction Appeal

(MEXICO MO)--The attorney for convicted killer Douglas Howery says he will appeal the conviction and the sentence Howery was given Monday in Audrain County.

The 61-year-old northeast Missouri man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for murdering his wife, Betty Ann Howery, 20 years ago on their Pike County farm. She was 44 at the time she disappeared.

Her husband was arrested in 2009 after her bones were found inside a septic tank being replaced at the home where the couple used to live.
